These lovely, sweet-tempered dogs belong to friends (hereinafter referred to as R&F to protect their privacy).
Nina Bella is an 8-year-old German Shepherd. Spike is a terrier of indeterminate age who was abandoned or lost; “R” found him, severely malnourished and missing much of the fur from his rear and tail, on a roadside and lured him into the car with a can of food.
If I recall correctly, Spike became a permanent member of R&F’s household about four months ago when, after successful efforts to locate the original owner, Spike was refused his rightful place in his own home because he’d been replaced.
Nina Bella and Spike behave as if they’ve been brought up together: their manners are impeccable (no barking, competing for food, or jumping-onto-people-and-humping-their-leg) and they are the best of friends.
Question of the day: what’s with that sheepish expression on Nina Bella’s face?
